Volunteering
We need you!
VOLUNTEERS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE at St. Andrew’s. Volunteers are asked to commit to a full school term (3 months), for at least two hours per week. The terms are as follows: Mid-September through Mid-December, January through late April, and early May to late July.
Full-time volunteers are very welcome. Unfortunately we are not able to offer any financial help for volunteers.
Here are the areas in which volunteers can work:
LEGAL INTERNS work with Resettlement Legal Assistance Project (RLAP), collecting refugees testimonies and helping them document their cases for resettlement. These internships are 20 hours weekly for 3 months. Click here for more information on RLAP volunteering or send an email to RLAP.
COMMUNITY GROUP SUPPORT: Our psychosocial department accepts volunteers to support the coordination of weekly youth activities. A minimum of 15 hours/week and three months commitment is required. Full-time or part-time internships can also be considered for the applicants.

We are also hoping to expand our community services starting in September 2011. If you have qualifications in Family and Conflict Mediation, Sexual and Gender Based Violence, Elderly care, experience in running and organising sport activities and events, urban agriculture/permaculture, and are willing to devote a minimum of 10/15 hours per week to support our community activities, please contact us. For more information, please send an email to maelle.pelletier@gmail.com
DEVELOPMENT INTERNS work with the StARS Development Team to help in fundraising, finding donors, writing grants and other writing for our blog. Applicants with previous fundraising and grant writing experience are required.

teacher trainings for current teachers. Example topics include, grading, how to teach writing to
ESL students, and classroom management.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in volunteering in development, teaching or tutoring, please contact standrews.volunteer@gmail.com Email a letter identifying your skills, how many hours and the time period you are available to volunteer, and attach your CV.
